Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has made headlines with the introduction of a new colorless petrol, known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), as his much-anticipated refinery begins operations. The Dangote Refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has officially commenced production and has rolled out its first batch of petrol.
During the presentation of the first petrol sample to the press, Dangote assured Nigerians that the refinery will provide the highest quality Premium Motor Spirit for their vehicles. He emphasized the benefits of the new petrol, stating, “You are now going to have good petrol while the engines of your vehicles will last longer.”

Speaking at a broadcast held at the Dangote Refinery in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, Dangote presented the first batch of a newly introduced colorless petrol, known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), produced at the facility.
Dangote, who hails from Kano State, explained that the clearer appearance of this new petrol sets it apart from the petrol currently in circulation. He highlighted that the clearer petrol is more environmentally friendly and could help reduce health problems linked to polluted petroleum products. Additionally, he emphasized that this higher-quality petrol would protect vehicle engines from damage often caused by the lower-quality fuels typically available in the market.
During the broadcast, Dangote was accompanied by his daughter, Fatimah Dangote, who serves as the vice-president of the refinery.
