‘The Best Matchmaking: Viral Video Shows MC Turning Two Strangers into Husband and Wife at a Grand Wedding”

Matchmaking video circulating on social media captures the surprising moment when an MC, during a grand wedding in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, turned a man and a woman into a couple on the spot.

In the viral video shared on Instagram, the MC, identified as MC Barms Ola, showcased his matchmaking skills, captivating the audience with how he paired the man and woman during the event. The spontaneous match began when the bride gifted her bouquet to her friend, who was also the event planner. Seizing the opportunity, the MC asked the groom to call out a single friend, and from there, the matchmaking began.

The MC questioned the man and the woman, Aminat, about their professions, religious beliefs, residence, and genotype. Both revealed they were Muslims living in Ibadan, and their genotypes—AC for Aminat and AA for the man—proved compatible, sparking excitement among the wedding guests.

With the compatibility confirmed, the MC encouraged them to have their first date right then and there, contributing N20,000 to start. Others followed suit, including the groom’s father, raising a total of N140,000 for the new couple.

The MC then created a hashtag for their potential wedding, “#AmeetsA2025,” and a cleric prayed for the pair as guests celebrated by spraying them with money. On Instagram, MC Barms Ola shared the story, humorously noting that if the couple eventually marries, he will host their wedding for free.
